Obituary for Robert Olsen Brown

Robert Olsen Brown
December 22, 1977 - August 3, 2020

Robert Olsen Brown, 42, was born on December 22, 1977 in Salt Lake City at the LDS Hospital to parents JoyDean Olsen and Larry Harris Brown. In addition to his parents, he is survived by daughters Elliannah R. Brown (mom: Stephanie McGougan) and Emma L. Brown (mom: Whitney Ottley) as well as siblings: L. Steven, (wife Teresa), Rebecca, Daniel W. (wife Camille), & Melanie J. Brown, in addition to his grandmother, Aileen Brown Jackson.

Robert was raised by his loving parents in Porterville, CA. He attended Monache High School where he participated in the water polo team, swimming team, as well as Concert and Chamber Choirs. Throughout high school he was involved with Porterville City Drama productions. In addition to graduating as a Valedictorian in 1996 he was also a four year LDS Seminary graduate.

After graduation, Robert attended BYU for a year where he took general education classes before he was called to serve an LDS mission in Asuncián, Paraguay from January 1997 to February 1999. Areas he served include; Posta Leiva, Pilar, Bella Vista, Anahi and Barrio Obrero. One of his favorite memories of Paraguay was his visit to Iguazu Falls.

Robert attended University of Utah from 2003-04. His first daughter, Elliannah, was born May 22, 2004. His second daughter, Emma, was born on October 18, 2009. He loved being a dad. As a family they enjoyed playing board games, doing outdoor activities, and watching movies.

He enjoyed collecting basketball trading cards, Star Wars memorabilia, and reading books such as Lord of the Rings, the Sword of Truth, and Harry Potter. His true joy was expanding his knowledge in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his two beautiful daughters.
