Obituary for Margaret Francis Jackson (Evatz)

Margaret “Marge” Francis Jackson passed away peacefully in her home in Draper, Utah on November 6, 2020. She was born on October 6, 1933 in Spring Canyon, Utah to Antone Evatz and Christina Kramarich Evatz.

Marge spent much of her life in Colorado. As a single mother, she worked hard to support her children, working for many years in the construction industry as a traffic control flagger. She also worked as a miner in the Climax Molybdenum Mine. One of her favorite jobs was Camp Host at Turquoise Lake in Leadville Colorado.

As a child, Marge had a love for horses, often riding her stick horse to and from grammar school. She pursued this passion later in life, raising and training race horses for a number of years.

Marge and Ira LaRoy Jackson first met in Price, Utah, where they attended the 9th grade Ball together. Later in life, they met again in Price at a high school reunion. On August 23, 2003, Marge and Ira were married in Oak City, Utah and were sealed a year later in the Manti, Utah Temple. Ira and Marge enjoyed many years together in Oak City raising sheep and enjoying the country life.

Marge is survived by her loving husband, Ira LaRoy Jackson; three children: Robert K Price Jr. (CO), Teresa “Teri” Giordano (NV), Martin Shane Price (UT); and her faithful canine companion, Bandit. She is preceded in death by her daughters Christina “Tina” Evatz and Antionette “Toni” Parker, and her former spouse Robert Kent Price. All together Ira and Marge have 37 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren.

Due to restrictions related to the current COVID-19 pandemic, no services will be held in person.
