I wanted so badly to be there to pay respect to such a great man as Dean. These past years, I didn’t get to see him often, but it was obvious that he was “weathering the storm,” and doing so, well... Especially with you loving care, Renee. I didn’t get to know Dean as well as if have liked in our relatively short visits at the office, and I regret having not stopped at the T Bone when I’d see his truck there, at least to say “Hello”. One thing I do know is that Dean is the type of man that you don’t have to know too long to understand the type of person he is. It always brightened my day (which in my line of work is a big deal) just to spend a few minutes with Dean, adjusting an appliance, or just talking. I regret that I didn’t always have more time to spend with him. I would have loved to go out and ride side by sides with you and Dean. I especially would have loved my sons to meet him and see what being a good man is really about. I am so sorry, Renee. I will so miss the updates on how Dean is doing and hear he adventures that you two had been on. I was blessed to pull into the highway as the group was gathering at the cemetery and to see the honor guard. I did not know that it was for Dean but I had this feeling of peace and now I know that it was. I wish that I could have been there to share my condolences, in person but I am so grateful that you called the office to let us know of his passing. We loved Dean, and we will miss him. What a wonderful man.

Dean was one of our first neighbors and he always felt like family. I remember how he loved camping up at Jolly’s Ranch, and he always invited us to come up and visit and roast a hot dog. I always made a point to shovel his driveway and Dean went out and bought a nice snowblower to make sure it wasn’t too much trouble. We loved the time we had with Dean and Renee, and we will always remember him tenderly.
